Manang's Chicken

HELEN GAMBOA-SOTTO LAUNCHED MANANG’S CHICKEN AT  VISAYAS AVE.,Q.C.

Urban legend had it that the beloved cook-mayordoma affectionately called Manang  used to  cook and serve sweet soy garlic chicken with enormous passion on the  dining table of her master’s family and their visiting friends. They never had enough of  Manang’s matchless way of doing chicken  since then -- ang bagong  fried chicken ng Pinoy!

Now it can be told that the phenomenal rise of Manang’s Chicken signature dish in the local community has played a huge part in securing a niche all its own, thus re- defining Filipinos love for chicken and  fast food.

The mushrooming  of Manang’s Chicken branches  in Metro Manila  soon became viral.  It found its way to the blogosphere, whetting the appetite of the customers for that  “Pinoy kick” sweet flavor that intensifies satisfaction as one munches on every piece of it to the last bite  where  deep frying is a delicate method among the discriminating foodies.
President and CEO of  Giabella Foods Corporation Mrs. Jill Gerodias- Borja, in hindsight knew that their chicken tasted extremely delicious and special from the rest  available  in fast food  chain.  To Mrs. Borja the business enterprise has been a breeze and is growing almost unbelievably fast due to  the  large increase in demands and following.

Inspired from another favorite family recipe, Manang’s Chicken offers yet choices of deep fried Garlic Liempo, Sesame Beef Stew to Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Fried Pancit and Cheezy Spaghetti.  It also has delectable  Manang’s Fish Fillet, an Asian twist with subtle hints of ginger and mushroom with variations of  secret soy garlic.

For those who want to have an alternative to chicken another Filipino dish, a bagnet rice version goes well with the concept of  Manang's Chicken. Natural and fresh fried potato chips take the sidelights along with coleslaw and macaroni salad.  A twist on a classic dessert with a taste of heaven inside, the Velvet Sundae made of moist velvety cake and fudge topped by vanilla ice cream was lately launched at another branch of Manang’s Chicken, Morato, Q.C.

Last June 5, 5:00 pm marked another timely occasion  for the most recent addition of another branch of Manang’s Chicken  at  Wilcon City Center, along  Visayas Ave., Q.C. with distinguished guests from the  business sector and public officials including top movie celebrities in attendance led by the First Lady of Senator Tito Sotto Mrs. Helen Gamboa- Sotto.

Not known to many the movie queen  otherwise known as the Bang Shang A Lang Queen of Songs  is also an acknowledged and excellent gourmet herself.  Asked how she is able to keep husband Tito and  her family on an even keel, Helen  jokingly quips, “Haven’t you heard  that the best way to keep your man and your children perhaps is through their  stomach.”  Incidentally, Helen is in the stellar role as the queenly and shining villain to Dawn Zulueta  in the top-rated ABS-CBN’s teleserye “Walang Hanggan” where for the first time she appears onscreen with another movie queen Susan Roces.

Manang’s Chicken has several branches  located at AIC Gold Tower, Garnet Road, Ortigas Center, Pasig City; G/F One Burgundy Plaza, Katipunan;  SM Megamall;  SM North Edsa; Glorietta Food Choices ; One Archers, Taft Ave. Manila;  Unit 2 & 3,Tomas Morato, Q. C. ;  and Presidents Ave., BF Homes Parañaque.
Manang’s hasn't abandoned its weekend market roots. The business still has a stall in Mercato Centrale, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig as well as in Midnight Mercato, the Legazpi Sunday Market, and Soderno @ Molito, Molito Mall, Alabang.

Manang’s Chicken  is  100 % Filipino- owned company. It  is  operated by Giabella Foods Corporation.  It is part of the MMG Group of Companies  which has been in the business for the past 35 years. To learn more about Manang's, visit:www.manangschicken.com.
