SUNPIOLOGY RUN and STAR MAGIC GIVES BACK CONCERT

The SunPIOLOgy Run 2012 will begin at the Venice Piazza Mall, Mc Kinley Hill on Nov. 24 and ends with the Star Magic Gives Back Concert.

The Sun and Stars shine brighter for a good cause this year. After the successful run of Star Magic’c first benefit show titled “Star Magic Gives Back Concert” in November 2011, the ABS-CBN’s talent management arm gives a ‘repeat’ this time in partnership with Sunlife Financial’s SunPIOLOGY Run.

Every day is bombshell day as TV5’s hottest property Ritz Azul debuts on the cover of FHM Philippines’ November issue.

She’s smart, talented, and absolutely ready for the big league. Many can recall Ritz from TV5’s celebrity star search, Star Factor, followed by a couple of teleserye projects like Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak, Glamorosa, and Kapitan Awesome. Now, Ritz is leading the stellar cast of TV5’s young and daring prized assets. “Being young and hardworking [is] sexy. I’m sexy that way,” Ritz tells FHM.

Such a confident statement coming from a debutant like Ritz obviously stems from real-life experiences. "May tapings ako ng teleserye at pictorials on the side. Lahat sabay-sabay[but] with the help of the people around me, kaya kong gawin lahat yun because I want to and I believe I can… [lalo na] kapag iniisip ko yung family ko at magiging future ko,” shares Ritz.

Just after being in showbiz for three years, she has already reaped two awards – the Entertainment Press Inc.’s Outstanding Breakthrough Performance by an Actress and Yahoo OMG’s Amazing Female Newcomer. She reveals in her interview with FHM how she gives life to her roles. She says, “After Nagbabagang Bulaklak, I did acting workshops. Dun medyo nahasa na. Sa Glamorosa, napag-aralan ko na rin kung paano humarap sa camera. I always try to recall my experiences in life bago ako sumasabak sa isang scene.”

Ritz also appreciates it when people – especially the FHM team – tell her that she is sexy. And of course, FHM dared to ask her what the sexiest thing about her is. She tells FHM, “I think it’s not what you see. It’s what’s on the inside. Napapansin ko kasi these days, people are after one’s attitude rather than their looks, which is good.”

"Rama, Hari" returns to CCP in November

“Rama, Hari,” the hit pop ballet musical based on the Indian epic Ramayana, is returning to the CCP stage this November, with a powerhouse cast of the country's best singers and dancers.

This year's staging of “Rama, Hari” will star Christian Bautista and Karylle in the lead roles Rama and Sita, backed by an equally powerhouse cast of the country's leading theater actors and singers: Robert Seña as the demon Ravana, OJ Mariano (alternating as Rama), Kalila Aguilos (alternating as Sita), Christian Rey Marbella, Noel Rayos, Lani Ligot, Amparo Sietereales, and Brezhnev Larlar.

Ballet Philippines' principal dancers Jean Marc Cordero and Richardson Yadao will essay the role of Rama and Carissa Adea and Katherine Trofeo as Sita.

"Rama, Hari" is Ballet Philippines' third production this year, following the staging of "Songs" and "Neo-Filipino: Anting.”

Ballet Philippines' Artistic Director Paul Alexander Morales says that what makes "Rama, Hari" special, then and now, is the great collaboration work done by the best Filipino artists on the production, including two national artists.

Choreographed by Ballet Philippines' founder Alice Reyes, the ballet musical was set to music of maestro Ryan Cayabyab, while National Artist for Literature Bienvenido Lumbera wrote the libretto and National Artist for Theater Design Salvador Bernal did the set and costume design.

  

The lyrics of “Rama, Hari” are in Filipino, but there will be English subtitles during the performance, translated by National Artist Rolando Tinio.

Ballet Philippines first staged “Rama, Hari” in 1980 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines with Basil Valdez and Kuh Ledesma as the voices behind Rama and Sita, respectively. Leo Valdez portrayed the role of the evil demon Ravana.
