While many opt to go after greener pastures for a quick buck, a lot still believe in loyalty. And in the IT landscape, the virtue of loyalty is alive and well. It is therefore not surprising that many people employed in this sector of society spend long careers with their respective companies.
In Dell, for example, most of its employees continue to serve beyond five years; a time frame where many would pick up their resumes to seek higher positions and/or pay. Thus, in recognition for years served and the accompanying loyalty it took, Dell recently honored its top performers during a year-end event at the Townhall.
Dell builds its business based on the purpose it was founded – Delivering technology solutions that enable people everywhere to grow and thrive. Every employee is very clear on the reason why they come to work and do their best work in service of the customer. Every employee is clear about the business strategy and how their roles are connected to this strategy. Every employee knows Dell is second to none in integrity and ethics and that their performance and career advancement is based on meritocracy.
