Marlisa, (born Marlisa Ann Punzalan) is a breakthrough not only because of the reason you're thinking–that she's of Filipino descent. She has gone to break records in Australia, origin talk aside.

Jumpstarting her music career pre-X Factor, Marlisa immersed herself in the live music scene by joining competitions starting at age 9, earning her first win at Sydney Eisteddfod Performing Arts Challenge in 2009, and 3 more gold medals in 2013.
