Matagumpay at masaya ang Celebrity Golf Tournament na idinaos ng Metro Manila Developmet Authority sa Wack Wack Golf & Country Club nung buong araw ng Lunes, Disyembre 3.


      Ang tournament ay bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng 50th anniversary ng Metro Manila Filmfest.

     The tournament teed off with a ceremonial drive led by MMDA Chairman Romando Artes and San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora. Players from the entertainment and business sectors participated in the tournament, including Cesar Montano, Christine Reyes, and Marco Gumabao.


Umabot sa halos alas nuwebe ng gabi ang pagdiriwang.  A grand banquet. of food was set up, and the  popular REO band entertained the crowd with oldies-but-goldies songs by the Beatles, BeeGees, and other well-loved bands.

     Nung gabing iyon ay nadiskubre ng madla na magaling at bibong host pala si Enchong Dee. Siya ang nagpakilala sa mga opisyal ng MMDA at ng mga syudad at bayan na sakop ng Metro Manila. Siya rin ang nangasiwa sa isang grand raffle kung saan ang major prize ay isang 2018 Fortuner van. Siya rin, siyempre pa, ang nag-announce ng mga nagwagi sa tournament at ang mga sumali.


Chairman Romando Artes delivered a heartfelt welcome speech, reflecting on the MMFF's journey over the past five decades and the immense contribution of the Filipino film industry to the nation's culture and identity.

      Naging bahagi ng programa nung gabing yon ang pagdu-donate ng MMFF na isang milyong piso sa Mowelfund at tinanggap yon nina Boots Anson Roa at Rez Cortez. Si Boots ang Chairman ng Mowelfund at si Rez ang President. Maraming miyembro ng The Entertainmenf and Arts Media (TEAM) ang miyembro na ng Mowelfund na nagkakaloob ng financial assistance sa movieworkers sa oras ng kagipitan nila dahil sa pagkakasakit.

Pero matagal na ring nag-o-offer ng edukasyon at training ang Mowelfund sa mga baguhang filmmakers. May professional post production facilities ang Mowelfund.

Inengganyo ni Enchong Dee nung gabing yon ang pagtangkilik sa sampung entries sa 2024 MMFF pero binigyan n'ya ng special mention ang Topakk dahil nasa cast siya ng pelikula at may cast members na sumali sa tournament at nakipagsaya sa mga dumalo sa banquet.

MMFF50 Celebrity Golf Tournament

Member Celebrity Golf Tournament:  A Grand Celebration of Legacy and Excellence 


The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) continued its golden anniversary festivities with a spectacular Celebrity Golf Tournament held at he prestigious Wack Wack Golf & Country Club.  The event brought together an exciting blend of sportsmanship, entertainment, and celebration in honor of MMFF's 50 year milestone.

The tournament teed off with a ceremonial drive led by MMDA Chairman Romando Artes and San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora, marking the start of the afternoon game.  Players from all over the entertainment and business sectors participated, showcasing camaraderie and support for the MMFF's enduring legacy in Philippine cinema.

The celebration extended into the evening with a grand banquet, which opened for morning players followed by a dynamic lineup of entertainment.  Hosted by the ever charming Enchong Dee,  the event featured an electrifying performance by the REO Brothers band,  energizing the crowd with their timeless music.

The program also included the much anticipated awarding ceremony for the tournament's top performers, who were recognised for their exceptional skills and sportmanship.  Excitement continued to build with the minor and major raffles, where lucky participants walked away with prizes, adding to the evening's celebratory atmosphere.

Bonifacio Global City (BGC) – Celebrated Filipino designer Happy Andrada captivated audiences with a striking Filipiniana collection at the Pinoy Playlist Music Festival 2024. Held at the BGC Art Center, her runway presentation featured a mesmerizing fusion of tradition and modernity, showcasing 32 pieces that honor the Philippines' rich textile heritage while reimagining the iconic Filipiniana style for today's global stage.

Andrada’s collection was a vibrant tribute to the diverse regions of the Philippines. Using fabrics like T’nalak, Pina Silk, Knotted Pina, Inaul, Abel Ilcoco, Yakan, Jusi, and Pina Callado, she infused each piece with intricate embroidery and avant-garde tailoring. The designs reflected the designer's commitment to preserving Filipino artistry while pushing the boundaries of contemporary fashion. Highlights from the collection included “The West Philippine Sea”, which was also featured in the Fashion Art Biennale in Seoul, Korea last September.

Each garment in the collection reflected Andrada’s dedication to the craftsmanship of traditional Filipino fabrics and textures, while offering a fresh, global perspective. Guests were treated to a visually stunning experience as they watched the garments come to life on the runway, set to the powerful rhythms and enchanting vocals of Anima Tierra. The world music collective’s performance elevated the fashion show, infusing it with cultural depth and transforming the runway into a dynamic, immersive experience.

Nicole Cordoves redefines tradition with an avant-garde twist—wearing a Happy Andrada Filipiniana masterpiece that exudes both heritage and innovation.

The fashion show was a key highlight of PPMF 2024, which ran from November 15 to 17 (though the last day was cancelled due to Typhoon Pepito). Now in its 7th year, the festival is renowned for its large-scale celebration of original Filipino music across generations and genres. Curated by National Artist for Music Maestro Ryan Cayabyab, Moy Ortiz, Noel Ferrer, and Maribel Garcia, this year’s festival featured over 300 artists and 50 performances, from soloists to orchestras, highlighting the rich diversity of Filipino musical artistry.
