Breeze urges moms to
join the Sige Sabado movement and say Yes to Learning!
Mommies play the important role of being their children’s
first and foremost teacher. They have the power to ensure their children grow
up to be well rounded and happy kids. However, moms, by nature, have the
tendency to be over protective of their children especially with regards to
being messy. They often associate getting dirty and stained with something
negative such as being irresponsible as well as hard work for them in terms of
cleaning. This is the kind of mindset that Breeze, one of the country’s leading
detergent brands, would want moms to change. Since Breeze strongly believes
that life’s lessons are best learned through experience, the brand strongly
encourages moms to adopt the Sige sa Mantsa philosophy which is all about
allowing their kids to be kids and explore and learn positive values even at
the expense of getting dirty and stained.
Saturdays are for the
family
To further forward the advocacy of child learning and
development, Breeze launched the Sige Sabado Movement which calls on moms to
dedicate Saturdays to their kids. Sige Sabado hopes to encourage moms to spend
their Saturdays creating lasting memories with their children by doing fun
bonding activities together. Even if this means often getting dirty and
stained, it’s okay since Sige Moms knows that what matter most are the values
learned, memories created and fun enjoyed in the process. Because of its strong
stain removal power, Breeze is mom’s number one partner in encouraging active
play and experiential learning since mom doesn’t need to worry about the mess
this often brings.
“Kids learn best when they’re having fun with their moms,”
said Unilever Home Care Marketing Director Mr. Jay Go, duing the Sige Sabado
Movement launch held at Arts in the City in Bonifacio Global City. “Through the
Sige Sabado Movement, we hope to cultivate a stronger, more loving relationship
between moms and their kids. After all, no matter how busy life gets, we should
always make time for the ones who matter most. If this also leads to stains,
it’s okay. Dirts and stains are temporary, memories and lessons are permanent.
Sige sa mantsa! Sige sa learning!”

“Sharing in our vision of spending weekend time with their
kids, our Sige Mom Circle will encourage other moms to participate in their
children’s learning and spread the advocacy by actively sharing their everyday
experiences with other moms,” said Go.
Growing the Sige Sabado habit
To make their Saturdays even more exciting, Breeze
introduced the Sige Sabado Playbox to the Circle of Sige Moms, media moms,
guest moms and their kids. The playbox is filled with materials and
instructions for making harlequin masks, dinosaur egg bath soaps, choco art,
raise a monggo plant, animal balloon paper mache, popsicle stick pen holder and
DIY slime.
In a recent survey conducted by Breeze, they found out that
Moms want to do activities with their kids but often run out of ideas. One
hundred percet said that they wish they had activity ideas they can do with
their kids. Through the playbox, Breeze aims to help moms by providing them
with weekly fun activities through playbox. Sige Sabado How to sheets will be
available on Facebook and Breeze websites for moms and kids to download and
create their own DIY projects. They can also capture and share their bonding
activity moments through the Sige Sabado Facebook App where weekly winners will
receive a Breeze giftpack and the Sige Sabado Plabox while grand prize winners
will win a trip to Legoland Malaysia Resort.
Breeze also seeks to help educate moms on why developing the
Sige Sabado habit is so important for their child’s over all well being.
Teacher Nurai, a Doctor of Family Life and Child Development from Guru Firm
shared important insights and tips on raising smart and active kids, as well as
benefits of the Sige Style of parenting.
During the event, resident teacher and Ateneo de Manila
University professor Wittam Bautista also spearheaded an activity where the
moms and their kids designed aprons for their Sige Sabado activities. The kids
were also treated to creative activities like cupcake decorating and canvass
painting.
