The longest-running amateur rock band search in the Philippines is back for another thrilling run! Red Horse, the country’s #1 extra strong beer, is proud to bring to you the Red Horse Pambansang Muziklaban Rock Challenge, the country’s leading competition for amateur rock bands, where up-and-coming groups can showcase their talent, creativity, and boldness for a chance to join the pantheon of Pinoy rock gods.

Now on its 13th year, the Red Horse Pambansang Muziklaban Rock Challenge continues the hunt for the rock gods of the new generation, so get your pens, your band, and your inner rakista ready for another eardrum-busting musical experience.

          Joining Red Horse for the Muziklaban Rock Challenge are rock legends Pepe Smith, from the famed Juan de la Cruz band, and Slapshock, 2010’s PMPC Star Awards’ Rock Artist of the Year, whose talent and expertise are sure to inspire this year’s crop of musicians.

This year’s Muziklaban is even bigger, with Red Horse Ambassadors Greyhoundz, Kjwan, Wilabaliw, and past Muziklaban winners Mayonnaise (2005), Ibarra (2006), Gayuma (2007), Even (2008), Hatankaru (2009), and Light of Luna (2010) uniting with these rock legends to bring OPM and rock music to epic proportions.

Aside from these rock icons, Extreme Sports icon Armand Mariano, Tattoo Master Ricky Sta. Ana, and the world’s number one pound-for-pound boxer, Manny Pacquiao, will be joining forces for Muziklaban, bringing this iconic musical event to a whole new level.

The competition is open to all amateur bands with members 18-34 years old. Interested bands must submit an entry form, a demo tape containing an original composition, a Red Horse Beer song composition, and a cover of a song by a local or foreign artist, and pictures of each band member, along with 10 crowns of Red Horse Beer per member.

  Entry forms are available at www.redhorsebeer.com and entries could be submitted via Facebook or YouTube, through the Red Horse Beer website, or through San Miguel Brewery sales offices and Events Circuit offices nationwide. Bands can also join by participating in the nationwide studio auditions. Make sure you and your barkada hurry, as the deadline of submission for entries is on September 15, 2011.

Eliminations will be held from October 1 to November 5, 2011 nationwide, with the semi-finals in November. The Grand Champion will then kick off the new year with a bang at the Grand Finals to be held on January 2012.

The winning band will not only get a cash prize of P500,000 tax free, but a sponsorship worth P300,000, and an endorsement contract with Red Horse worth P200,000. That, and an instant ticket to the halls of Pinoy rock as the Grand Champions of the Red Horse Muziklaban. A special prize of P50,000 will also be given to the band with the best Red Horse Beer jingle composition.
