Empress Schuck debuts on the cover of FHM Philippines’ 13th anniversary issue

The Kapamilya network’s “Empress of Drama” Empress Schuck graces the cover of FHM Philippines’ 13th anniversary issue this March, dubbed the FHM Bikini Heaven Special . The 20-year-old actress and cast member of ABS-CBN’s teleserye Apoy sa Dagat is all set to show the nation just how mature she has become and how it reflects on her swimsuit-wearing form as FHM welcomes Empress as its sexy new sovereign.


Empress’ first FHM cover exhibits her disarming youthful exuberance and professionalism – truly a display of experience beyond her years. She tells FHM, “Natutunan ko na rin maging comfortable sa sarili kong body… Syempre kinakabahan [rin] ng kaunti, pero I’m happy kasi meron ako nagawa na bago para sa sarili ko and sa career ko.”

But similar with other first-timers on the cover, Empress also had her fair share of apprehensions on posing for a men’s magazine like FHM. “I thought about it for a long time…not about wearing a bikini but what posing for FHM implies,” she reveals in the interview. “Pero tumatanda na ko... Mas lumawak na isip ko about the magazine. I can say parehas lang siya sa ibang magazine–pero may kaunting edge. Gusto kong sabihin na wag i-judge yung magazine by the cover and I’m happy that naging part ako of it.

She also reveals to FHM what encouraged her to do her first cover for a men’s magazine. “I want everyone to realize that I'm no longer a child. It’s also for everyone to understand na posing for FHM doesn't mean na mag-sesexy ka na or you are changing your image sa public. For me, I took posing for FHM as a challenge to show everyone na you can still be wholesome while showing skin. It’s all about how you carry yourself,” says Empress.

One of Empress’ biggest achievements is being one of the successful child stars of the showbiz industry. “Nag-start ako when I was seven; matagal na akong nag-a-act. Ang dami ko nang napagdaanan from being a child actress until now. [Tulad ngayon] sa Apoy sa Dagat, first time ko maging kontrabida. For me it's mature and challenging, kakaiba para sakin. Kasi before ako lagi yung kinakawawa and ako lagi yung umiiyak. For the first time ako yung mang-aapi. Masaya ako na nagawa ko yun,“ she says.
