CHIC NAILS: PAMPERING IS A REWARD

The lives of Filipino women have evolved extensively, such that they are not merely responsible for a few things at home or at work anymore. “I was one of those women. I had a job and a family to take care of. I had longed for some form of reward for myself. One that would not take a lot of time or cost a lot of money,” Angeli Ebdane, proprietress of Chic Nails Hand, Foot and Body Spa, shares.

It was from Angeli’s experience as a working wife and mother that the idea for Chic Nails came to be. She recognized that she was not alone in her plight, and that many of today’s women were, like her, in search of ways to reward themselves. She says, “Pampering is not just about luxury anymore. I see it as a bonus, a reward for women who, more often than not, do all things for their family, but forget to take care of themselves.”

Angeli opened the first branch of Chic Nails in Don Antonio in July 2009.  She felt that a nail spa provided women an affordable respite from the demands of the daily grind. It was a convenient rejuvenating escape that did not have to take too much of their precious time. Her goal was to provide unparalleled service to clients, to “relax them into a better state of well-being”. She started by employing only well-qualified and experienced staff. Nail technicians and massage therapists at Chic Nails undergo extensive training upon hiring, and even during their employment, to hone their skills and become updated with latest techniques. The training also includes proper customer-relations, so that the staff are always polite, accommodating, honest and friendly.

Hand-in-hand with well-trained staff is the use of products, tools and equipment that are up-to-date with latest trends and of the highest quality available in the market. New nail polish colors are introduced every season. Trendy nail grooming techniques such as gel nails and popular nail art are offered in the spa. But more than fashion and trends, Chic Nails boasts of the strictest standards in cleanliness and sterilization. It puts the highest premium on the safety and well-being of its clients, always.

After opening a second branch in Katipunan Avenue in September 2011, Chic Nails opens the doors of its third and newest branch in Scout Tuason, Quezon City in May 2013.  The list of services it offers has expanded, and now includes treatments for the face and body, aside from the original nail grooming and massage services. Its clientele consists of teenagers, students, housewives and career women, having in common the need to relax and feel pampered. Chic Nails’ roster of popular celebrity endorsers is also a testament to the quality and standard of its services. In fact, the opening of the Scout Tuason branch is partially influenced by the demand of celebrity endorsers and clients for Chic Nails to make its services more accessible to them.

Just as when she opened her first branch in 2009, Angeli’s goal is still to provide unparalleled service to clients. She is as meticulous as ever, still over-seeing operations on a daily basis. There are no details too small for her to pay attention to, be it simple staff concerns, researching on new products and services the spa can offer, or even the physical set-up of the three branches.
