American Idol Season 9 Winner Lee Dewyze live at Venice Piazza and Eastwood City!
As the search goes on for this year’s American Idol, Venice Piazza and Eastwood City brings you last season’s winner of the biggest reality search on TV, Lee Dewyze for his “Live It Up” album promo tour.
Lee Dewyze, a paint salesman from Illinois, auditioned in Chicago on June 2009 for the ninth season of American Idol. Throughout the contest, the 24 year old singer-songwriter was known to be shy. But with his amazing voice and talent, he was able to surpass the challenges of the contest. Of all the contestants in the search, he was one of the two who never land in the bottom three. The other one was Crystal Bowersox, a 24-year-old single mom from Ohio, who later on became Dewyze’s rival for the much sought-after title.
Despite the judges’ approval of Bowersox in the season finale, Dewyze emerged to have the most votes from the people. For his coronation song, Dewyze performed U2’s “Beautiful Day” which became his first single. As the winner of Season 9, he received a recording deal and the title “American Idol.” Just recently, Lee Dewyze won as the Best Male Reality Star at the Teen Choice Awards 2010.
