PH JOINS THE MR. WORLD
2012 PAGEANT
Andrew
Wolff, athlete, model, actor, and entrepreneur has been appointed to represent
the Philippines in the forthcoming Mr. World Pageant on November 24 in Kent,
England. This was the official statement made by Cory Quirino, chairman and CEO
of CQ Global Quest Inc. in a Presscon held at Annabel’s in Quezon City.
Due to
the recent appointment of Cory Quirino as licensee of Mr. World Philippines and
in the interest of time, no pageant was held this year in preparation for the
Mr. World Philippines 2013 Pageant. Thus, from a field of 20 entries sent by
top talent and modeling agencies a private panel of judges selected the
candidate with the strongest athletic background. “The reason for this move is
the Mr. World is a brain and brawn pageant, and we wish to make a strong
showing in sports and endurance challenge of the competition” says Cory
Quirino.
The prestigious Mr. World Pageant established in 1990 is the search for the most desirable man in the world, an exclusive competition for men ages 17 to 27 owned and managed by the Miss World Organization, the same organizer of the Miss World Pageant.
Headed by Mrs. Julia Morley as chairman, the international
event held two years attracts over 70 participating countries. The last Mr.
world Pageant was held in 2010 at Incheon, South Korea. The title went to Kamal
Ibrahim of Ireland. The Mr. World Pageant will include the following theme and
qualifying competitive events: sports, talent, and multi-media award. A unique
Army Assault Course will be introduced this year making Mr. World Pageant the
most unique and challenging of competitions.
Andrew
Wolff is a member of the victorious Philippine Volcanoes, which recently
clinched the 2013 Rugby World Cup Seven Slot in Singapore. This historic win
assured the Philippines of the 3rd and last Asian Team slot to
compete in the Moscow showdown.
Not
many people know that Andrew used to play the violin as a child. And, aside
from dabbling in soccer and badminton during his spare time, he is also a
budding entrepreneur. Recently he started his own events company, specializing
in sports-related endeavors. To date, a fun-run slated for January 2013 is
already in the works.
Mr.
World Philippines 2012 is co-produced by ALV Productions headed by Arnold
Vergafria.
Mr.
World Philippines 2012 Andrew Wolff will receive a 1 year endorsement contract
for Novu Hair. His formal wardrobe will be provided by Merger.
The
title Mr. World has never been won by the Philippines and remains just as
exclusive as the Miss World crown. The two beauty pageant titles could be
considered as the most coveted in the world.
